Deluxe eco safari tents at Kakadu Culture Camp

We have deluxe eco safari tents for guests who want to camp with us overnight while touring Kakadu. Designed with our local environment in mind with the latest eco innovations including floor boards made out of recycled plastic milk cartons, our tents are roomy and comfortable. Accommodation is only available Monday to Friday May-October 2010.

With only 10 safari tents, limited numbers means a relaxing evening and the chance to mix socially with your Aboriginal hosts.

Located in a unique bush setting while still close to solar hot showers and toilets, our safari tents are available in a variety of configurations including for families (Mum, Dad, 2 kids) a double bed and double bunks. Large ’swag’ tents are also available for bigger groups, please enquire about rates.

Everything is supplied, towels, soap etc., just bring a torch and a toothbrush and wake up to the sounds and scents of the bush. Kakadu’s brolgas and kookaburras are our 6am alarm clock! Breakfast and dinner is included. Enjoy a sitdown dinner with the Hunter family in our comfortable camp kitchen and dining area. The menu changes on a daily basis (you eat what we eat!) and may include BBQ Buffalo, Kangaroo, Barramundi and Crocodile. If you’re lucky you might even get Andy’s famous Buffalo pizza with a beer damper base!

Price is A$195 per person per night twin share  (single Adult occupant A$250). Children staying with Adults are A$65pp. Tariff includes dinner and continental breakfast, a free Kakadu Culture Camp ‘pump’ style water bottle and one complimentary glass of beer, wine or soft drink with dinner. Lunch is also available on request. Booked tours are at extra cost. You must also book our Kakadu by Night boat cruise when booking accommodation.

Check in is 4.30 pm, check out at 8.30am or by prior arrangement. Our camp kitchen serves breakfast and dinner and the dining area has a range of amenities including a library stocked with *rare books/DVDs on Kakadu and Arnhem Land. Power outlets are available in our camp kitchen to re-charge camera/laptop/phone etc.
